Saratoga Opens Sunday

Opening day for Saratoga Harness is Sunday afternoon. Burke is sending some horses there. Maybe other PA/NJ trainers will too? No Harrah's Philadelphia for a while, so maybe Saratoga might get some more attention. Jim Morrill is also supposed to be at Saratoga, presumably until Pocono opens up.

They race Sunday afternoons at 12:45. At least until the thoroughbred meet starts. After that, they go back to Sundays in September.

Thx for the update CMP....I don't play there too much these days, but I always like the opening week or two at a new meet....Sometimes, if alert enough, I can find a goody or two at the beginning of things....:eek:

Years ago, when I lived in Jersey, I used to go there from time to time....I always rented a fisherman's cabin at Peck's Lake and commuted over to the track at nite....Nothing like it, "fishin n' bettin'"...:cool:

A few times, I remember doing double headers at the Spa and at Trots...Lots of good times then...:jump:

They handled 414,000 today, that is a big number for Saratoga.

$414k - that's huge - have they expanded the distribution of the signal?

Typical handle for that track on Sunday is about 200k.

My guess is that the big number is a result of it being the only game in town, today.
