Yesterday, was a bit rocky, but there are some extenuating circumstances: OP, race 2, the horse lost its rider out of the gate; Kee, race 4, ML 8/1 went off at 72/1, sorry but I would not have touched this 1 with a ten foot pole; Kee, race 7 (did anyone see these payoffs?), user error on my part as both the 8 and 12 had cycle 5...the 8 also had cycle 3. The system specifies to play the higher odds horse. In this case ML on 8 and 12 was 20/1 & 15/1 respectively and 28/1 & 22/1 at post. The 8 was the play, but I blew the call. That's what I get for thinking. The 8 won at 28.9/1, but was DQd to 2nd. An even higher price horse was moved up!

Only a few plays today.

Date Track Race Horse Cycle
4/8/2004 SA 2 6 3
4/8/2004 Kee 1 10 5
4/8/2004 Kee 9 14 5

Cycle 5 is the horse that gave a good effort in last and Cycle 3 is the sprinter winning a longer race. See yesterday's post for more detail.

Kingfin,

Do you use your computer to find these cycle horses ? Or do you just use pen & paper ?

I didn't notice any cycle 2 or 4 horses. Are these patterns rare ?

Thanks for posting selections, as I am following along with interest.

Hi Zafonic,

2 and 4 Cycles are rare. 2: Can a Distance Horse Win a Short Race? Today's race must be a sprint and last race was at least a mile and the horse lead most of the way (6f). 4: Last race was 7 or 7.5f ONLY, today's race is 8f or more, and horse closed well at the 7 or 7.5 distance.

These are so basic, that all I do is scroll thru the past PPs and jot down the horses that I find, which cycle and ML odds. It's very easy and quick. Time will tell if it is profitable. So far it is a little bit.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I will continue posting my picks. Unfortunately, limited time means limited tracks to review.

Kingfin,

Thanks for posting some of these plays, I am interested in seeing the results. Is there any one cycle or cycles that out performs the others?

Keep up the good work.

Cycle 5 generates the most action and better results. It suggests a horse coming into good form. Cycle 1 generates some plays as well, but is harder to hit because it often involves a horse moving up in class (but only 30% or less). Cycles 2,3,4 don't generate much play. By the way, I have encountered two instances where a horse had 2 cycles. One won at 2.4/1, the other was the 8 @ Kee/7 that I failed to pick. I will keep posting picks.

The columns compress when I cut and paste from Excel. It is SA, Race 2, Horse 6, Cycle 3. ML is 12/1 (not listed with the picks).

I may have to become Mike C. on this board. It is King FIN, not King FISH. Really, I am not the king of anything as the new guy is the king.

Speed Figure,

How'd you do that!? I try to line up columns in here and they just go back to the way you see them.

Well,

The CBM didn't live up to it's name today. Three plays, and three off the board. More picks will be forthcoming. This thing absolutely killed at Beulah and TuP on Monday and Tuesday.

If the method picks mostly 5-1 and up there will be dry spells. The lower win % will be compensated by higher mutuel payoffs.

Keep the Faith !

That's right Z. You won't see me post a pick on here if the ML is 2/1 or lower.

It turns out that the #14 in Kee, race 9 was a scratch.
