For those who are interested,Jay Cronley, who wrote the book that Let it Ride is based upon, writes a collumn for ESPN .This week he wrote about the movie.
I would post the address, but I am using WEB TV and I can't paste crap.
Just go to ESPN horseracing and find his name. You can reach it from DRF's page.
Also read the story by Kenny Mayne about being in the wrong line at post time.
If you never had that experience,YOU are the problem!

Thanks. That was one of my more enjoyable reads of the last few months.

I was an "extra" in the scene at Hialeah, where "Trotter" (Dreyfus) goes up the stairs to the Jockey Club (real name Turf Club) for lunch. Sat there for 4 hours for $45.00, while they set and shot and re-shot the scene, we did get lunch though. Seems like a long time ago.

The best thing about this post was finding out Let it Ride has been released on DVD. Time to go to the store for a XMAS present.

I live in Tulsa, OK. and have known Jay for about 7 yrs. He is a living version of "Trotter". Very vocal at the track and can be heard from one end of the simulcast center to the other. He also is one of the best at picking exacts that I know.

Karl, I was an extra in the movie too. Lots of fun even if boring at times.
