Another good card. Not as good as Gulfstreams card, but a solid all stakes pick 3 ends with the Risen Star.
Not nearly as chalky. Ill be ending my pick 3's with 5,6,8 and 9.
I am strongly against the 2 and 14.

Hopefully Intense Holiday can work a trip here.

It's hard to tell how good, but he is a talented colt.

Nice field (same with the Ftn Of Youth at GP).
:13: Commanding Curve is interesting, but MSW win to a Gr2 is a big task.
Steady diet of stamina works and Albarado lands on his back.
Albano had a wide trip last time and figures to trip better from the rail this time.
Many ways to go in here - haven't really begun to get down on this race though.

After a closer look is it very doubtful I will bet either of those two.
Easy to land on the big figure runners in Rise Up and Vicars In Trouble.
I am looking long at the Baffert shipper, Hoppertunity, who ran a nice race right up on the pace and finished in good time...nice speed fig.
Also, what about the sneaky Desormeaux runner Flat Gone?
I know, I know...another maiden breaker moving to a Gr2 (like Hoppertunity) but this trainer has gotten some bombs in the money. Plus, he ran a nice figure.

Quick Indian is another I am looking at, and now I have to deal with the first AE coming in from TP...Emmett Park. Done nothing wrong whatsoever and has earned a shot vs this company.

Wonder what price I'll get on Baffert...he's the one I am leaning towards with Hoppertunity.

I think Rise Up is a superior front runner compared to Vicar's In Trouble, who may have trouble clearing from the far outside unless Rosie completely guns from the start.

Yes - the two fastest runners by a comfortable margin just happen to have the same running style, and I agree that Rise Up is quicker.
Both have won stalking so neither will be compromised if they wind up in 2nd down the backside, but there's a real chance they will go too fast.

Vicar ran on a ++E day in the Lecomte...8 dirt races and only 3 runners that were 3+ BL at the first call finished with a top four placing all day (that's 3 out of 32), and only 1 finished in the exacta.

If Rosie guns from the start, will she give him a rest in the backstretch? or will he get passed by most coming down the stretch.

rise up wont be a surprise. has the best speed figure is the most accomplished horse and is drawn better than his main rival. he is also only 4-1 in the moring line. it would be more of a surprise if he loses. i like pletchers horse too. and baffert a little too.

Very contentious race, but my "PowerFormVelocities" rating (PFV) have them ranked this way, in ranked order:

9 - Intense Holiday
13 - Commanding Curve
2 - Rise Up
8 - Hoppertunity
14 - Vicar's In Trouble
3 - Flat Gone
12 - Xtra Luck

At FG the PFV top pick is hitting at 34.4% and the top 3 picks are hitting at a 64.4% clip.

Wouldn't be too surprised though if none of these win. The early pace could shake out any of several ways. Won't be betting the race.

I'm going to take the #2 Rise Up to win. I'm not crazy about him as a winner, but I think he makes a great key horse. I like the #8 Hoppertunity, #9 Intense Holiday and #11 Quick Indian to offer some value in the exotics.

I think this Trifecta has the potential to pay pretty well, so using the #2 as a key, here is how I'm going to play the race:
$0.50 - 2 / 8,9,14,11 / 8,9,14,11 = $6
$0.50 - 8,9,14,11 / 2 / 8,9,14,11 = $6
$0.50 - 8,9,14,11 / 8,9,14,11 / 2 = $6
$0.50 - 2 / 8,9,14,11 / 1,6 = $4
$0.50 - 2 / 1,6 / 8,9,14,11 = $4
$0.50 - 8,9,14,11 / 2 / 1,6 = $4
Total - $30 play

:9: Intense Holiday is catching love all over the place - seems like everyone is on him.
No way we see anything near his ML price....I am guessing he's about the 3rd choice and somewhere around 7-2 or 4-1.
He's capable and I have to use him, but I worry that "Pletchermania" may drive his price way down.

I am settled on :8: Hoppertunity. Using over many in exotics and under the 2-9-13 in exactas.
It's a spread kind of race, and I doubt seriously it chalks out, so the payoff should be there if you can find it.

good luck

Once I saw Rise Up was being strangled, I figured he was finished.

A horse like that doesn't pass horses in the lane. He separates and holds off the late closers.

Raybo, I was just looking at the thread, and I don't think anyone had the 1.

I bet 3 races today, I hit two of the three and one was Asmussen's, Tapable, who won by 10. I kept my mouth shut. As always, you let me write anything here about a pick? And every (fill in the blank)'n time  I jinx my pick. I lose here in front of you, gentlemen. Again.

I didn't bet the race but had I bet the super I had structured I would have missed the place horse, the 1 Albano. Had the other 3 finishers. The 1 just didn't figure in my ratings. Saved a few bucks by passing the race.

Can't say the same about the Fountain of Youth. I lost about $50 on a $1 super and a dime saver super. Both tickets missed the winner, my 4th ranked horse, the 4. Again, I got the other 3 finishers, but no bananas!

Albano escaped me too. He has sprint speed, a strong work since last, and the rail.
Got hung wide last time and I guess they figured gunning it was their best chance. Good figuring, because he ran them all off their feet and was unlucky to get nailed by the #9...class of the field gets his nose down.
How they let him roll thru tepid splits I'll never know

Hoppertunity was my key runner - fell to mid pack early, but swung out in the lane and looked to have some run. He persevered for 4th.
Not bad considering the class hike and the long trip with no work over the track.
Vicars In Trouble ran pretty well also.
