These small fields in California have me ready to change circuits. Where can I get information on average field sizes?

If you go to the Entries tab on the DRF or Equibase sites, you'll see how many horses are entered. Is this what you mean? e.g.,

Are you talking about historic data or current racing? I don't think that historic data is going to be a lot of help, because things change with the weather and depending on what other tracks are open.

If you want a quick look at current fields, you can find it HERE (http://www.equibase.com/static/entry/index.html). The best field sizes I have been seeing lately are at Oaklawn.

The tracks that seem to have large fields, just off the top of my head, are:

Woodbine
Gulfstream
Churchill
Keeneland
Mountaineer

Churchill Fall, not so much Churchill Spring.

Right now Oaklawn seems to be doing the best.

Yeah Churchill not so good anymore. The fall meet will get big fields, which is fine if you don't mind betting races with 10 first time starters and 2 second timers. With so many runners having run at Kee and AP, too many have dirt form that is nothing more than a guess.
