Does anyone bet into these pools?

The only time I can see this being a worthwhile play is when you have, say, 100-1 on a runner you're high on early in the betting. Otherwise, don't the viable candidates shake out and your odds are severely depressed. I see 8-1 on Cairo Prince and 10-1 on Honor Code. Isn't that far, far too low to accept when you consider all that can go wrong from now until they break from the gate (and even more so after they break and IF they break from the gate on the 1st Saturday in May)? In addition, favorites often go off at 4-1 or 5-1 in the Derby anyway.

I'd love to hear from someone who plays into these pools and how they've done.

I'm wanting to bet into these pools this year.Where?.I did a 3 year study of the Triple Crown and Travers races and top stamina horses won 9 of 12 and 4 of 5 Derbies. For a 5 x $20 layout and a minimum of 50-1 I'd say it's well worth it.There were only 3 entrants in last years Derby that qualified.

I've only bet the "all"....maybe one day they can find a way to have 300+ betting interests.......but, its only 2014 and technology isnt "advanced" so maybe a few decades from now, they'll figure out how to have 300 interests to wager on.
