Santa Anita picks for Saturday:
R1 - #5 Quiet Journey-With lots of attention the FTS will attract, this one may go off at halfway decent odds. He battled gamely in a large field last time and hasn’t missed a beat in the am.
R2 - #2 Snatch the Cash-Like this barn, and this runner shows good am drills.
R3 - #5 Researched-Had excuses in his last two, should make amends in here.
R4 - #9 Salt Wells-Makes the drop, has early speed. Carla one of my favorites. 9/2 not likely.
R5 - #1 Hotel Hall-Switch to Baze means send job likely here. Looking for a good effort after some excusable races.
R6 - #12 Ghazirella-Makes first start for underrated barn. Showed some ability going longer in Canada. Puts longshot jock up. My longshot special today.
R7 - #4 Laidlow-Should control the pace in here. Nakatani gets on, which mean all out go for this barn.
R8 - #6 Rock Hard Ten-Has impressed me so far. Distance should be no problem, loses Stevens though.
R9 - #1 Macaneo-Timely claim by this barn. Had run well in the past on the turf at higher levels, would not be surprised to see him romp here. Price should be right.
R10 - #2 Star Cross-Never in on Cap day. Never was a fan of Dynever, this one has proven himself on this surface already.
R11 - #2 Element K. – Look out, this one bred for turf and Carla does well with 2nd time starters. Big odds expected.
