Whoever is chosen to give the response, you just know that the left wing media will be looking for anything to criticize like taking a drink of water or some other meaningless crap. If I was in charge of formulating the response, I would have it done as a tongue in cheek comedy routine repeating all of 0bama's talking points and explaining to the audience how great things are. They would need to pick someone with a lot of self control who wouldn't bust out laughing halfway through the speech.
I will give the response.
I will just walk out, turn my back, drop my pants, and moon the cameras.
When is the Laugh In event, next Monday?

I nominate Clint Eastwood.

Actually I think Jon Stewart would be perfect but he obviously wouldn't do it. Jay Leno would be my second choice.
Why not ask Marshall Bennett if he can do it? He can start with this gem....
"Liberals (almost all) are unwilling to see or even remotely admit the degree of decline of this country's moral fiber, because they are the root cause of it."

Sherman is much more coherent and likable than the self-described genius and 'constitution professor' who resides in the White House. Sherman is also much more a man than the world's closeted laughing stock known as Obama.

Year after year, the GOP has picked someone who makes Obama look good. It will be interesting if the GOP finally picks someone who can effectively communicate their ideals. My guess is not.

0bama looks good to those who have failed in life and to socialist ideologues who make piss poor excuses for failure. You only live once. If you don't go for the gusto you are just taking up space.

Must have missed that, if anything I always hear him poking fun at himself. And the closeted comment.. does that mean that people laugh at him when they're alone in their closet, or when he's in his closet? Or maybe another type of closet entirely?
One thing you did get right tho.. in a league-wide poll conducted earlier this year among players, Richard Sherman was voted "Most Likable"

Not exactly.
Obama had always had a high estimation of his ability to cast and run his operation. When David Plouffe, his campaign manager, first interviewed for a job with him in 2006, the senator gave him a warning: “I think I could probably do every job on the campaign better than the people I’ll hire to do it,” he said. “It’s hard to give up control when that’s all I’ve known.” Obama said nearly the same thing to Patrick Gaspard, whom he hired to be the campaign’s political director. “I think I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters,” Obama told him. “I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now that I’m gonna think I’m a better political director than my political director.”

We have had businessmen as presidents before and they were all disasters. Carter and GWB being the latest. Of course GWB wasn't much of a businessman either. Name one good businessman president in the last 100 years.

Not when the republican response is just another democrat one.
The TP response is the one that will represent the real Americans.

Besides the two you named above only one president in the last 100 years was primarily a business man before entering politics. Herbert Hoover made about $4M in the mining business. He was a terrible president and he was worst at the business end of being president. The same as GWB.

Name one good businessman president in the last 100 years.
Someone with all business experience and no government experience would not likely make a good president. A business executive, especially a CEO, is used to have people do what he says. But a total lack of business experience is just as bad because you don't understand how business and the economy works.
Executive government experience, such as a state governor, teaches how to get things done in a partisan environment where cooperation is needed. (Hint: community organizer does not count as business experience or as executive government experience.)

Former VA governor Bobby McDonnell may or may be available down the road. At least he has experience getting things.

The TP response is the one that will represent the real Americans. Then shouldn't these TP'ers be running on their own Tea Party ticket when the elections come up? I can understand that they are much more conservative in their views and policies but I don't understand why they then continue to run on the Republican ticket.

The republican party is a vehicle for conservatives.
Without the conservative wing, the repubs do not win so they are stuck with them. Generally, there are not enough conservatives to fill thier own party, but that may be changing. It is much easier to be a democrat because you get free stuff, have no responsibilities, and other people carry your water. Romney nailed that part of it. 47% at least are worthless and will always be worthless. Fact of life.
The dems keep bragging about their big tent.....yet people complain that the republican party has to put up with conservatives. Mind boggling stuff.
The dems have it worked out, though - see my thread on Baby Mario. You can be in the big tent as long you agree with everything. The repubs are becoming dems very quickly. Look at McCain, Boehner........not a conservative drop of blood in them.

No they shouldn't, there is a disconnect between the party elites and the base. The tea party caucus identifies with traditional Republican views, has support of the base, wants to make sure the party keeps to its principles and to end business as usual in Washington. Lee, Cruz and the others are legitimate elected members of the Republican party, and as such have as much right to speak out as any of the Rinos.
Face it, there is no demand or interest in hearing the views of a Boehner, or a McConnell or any of the other spineless dinosaurs. Contrast them with the energy and intellect of a Lee, Cruz, Paul, Jindal, or Walker. That is where the Republican base is.

In time, Jay, we will all get our wish with a real Tea Party, but that's a long way off because of how the political infrastructure is laid.
For now, conservatives must concentrate on purging the GOP of its cowardly, stupid, incompetent and corrupt leadership. For those with much less patience than I have, there's a backdoor way for the conservatives to have a national electoral presence and that's possibly aligning themselves with the Libertarian or Constitution parties. I believe --but not 100% sure--both parties have 'lines' in all 50 states.
There are caveats to merging with either party as there is a far left wing bent in the Libertarian Party that's offset by a similar far right wing faction too. With the Constitution Party there are too many John Birchers and assorted anarchists to make even a proud rightie like myself uncomfortable.
I will tell you all right now, 10 months before the November elections, that the GOP will not do as well as the pundits and the Rove/Bush clowns want people to believe. The reason is that the GOP will lose conservative votes -- the same base that gave the GOP its majority in 2010 but has been thrown under the bus ever since.
I say we run the Toronto mayor and see what shakes out!
