How sad is that? $2307 is all a three horse show pool gets? The game may be over...

i don't know of to many race tracks that take London. if you are playing with an adw you have to have money in you account, or enough credit to do an ach deposit from your checking account, that requires a credit line, my credit line happens to be $20,000.

but even if i had $100,000in my account i wouldn't do it. my adw would pay me and get rid of me. i wound up doing it for $200, that is about as much as i thought wouldn't ring a bell because its a normal bet for me most of the time.

not that long ago, i could bet science fiction money on show bets without any problems with rebate shops. those days are long gone now. every place is now responsible for the negative pools.

Lambo I hear that the ADWs now charge the bettors involved in minus pools sometimes as much as 17%

Times sure have changed.

Times sure have changed.there are places that won't take show bets period.

Dover Downs will bar a guy from making minus pool show bets, yet allow people to bet the break and give them up to 6 seconds after the race to pick their number.

A couple of summers ago, I was at a "B" meet in the Interior of British Columbia (Sunflower Downs). Field scratched down to 3 due to a scratch in the paddock, and the show wagering continued...

No ATM's on site...

And that is exactly why it was not free money, there was still risk. Your selection could have had equipment failure, become injured, or gone on a severe break and lost the driver and been unable to continue, and then the dreaded DNF would have dashed your sure thing.

If I'm using an ADW and bet $100 show on a horse that happens to end up in a minus pool situation how does the 17% come into play?

I wager $100, horse pays $2.10, so I get $105 back.

Are you saying they take 17% off the $5.00 (85 cents)?

Or off the $100 ($17)? Or even off the total ($17.85)?

Of all the things I have seen before with regard to minus pools, I have not seen this before. So a player loses money on a winning selection. What ADW is doing this and how does it specifically work?

17% on your $100, so $83 is to paid out for those who win. For example 9 people bet each horse to win. So they collect $900 and after less 17% is $747 to paid out to the winner.

When they paid you $2.10, the racetrack have to lose. The lowest odd is 1/9 which means $2.20. But if too many people bet the same horse and that horse win, the racetrack still have to pay you. They paid you only $2.10 instead of $2.20.
