A general number can also be found looking at total assets of the fund that Vanguard offers, the Total Stock Market Index.

The value of their holdings is $828.66 billion.

If my math is correct, 100 times that is $82,866,000,000,000 or almost $83 trillion for the world's stock.

Maybe the U.S. is 20 to 25% of that -- which would make the U.S. stocks worth about $20 trillion -- which is consistent with what Saratoga_Mike wrote.
