The Dems and the anti gun crowd set new records for gun sales

Took 85 million out of Colorado's economy and the hits just keep coming.

Congrats Barry and Biden! Once again you do the exact opposite of your intent

Genius!

There is no doubt that Obama has raised paranoia level of the right wing nuts out there and when right wing nuts get paranoid, they buy more guns and ammo. I have feeling that if some one went back and checked that best thing for gun manufacturers is a democrat in the white house. The same is probably true of NRA membership.

“Dictatorship didn’t happen overnight. It took five years, gradually, little by little, to escalate up to a dictatorship,” she said. “When the people fear the government, that’s tyranny. When the government fears the people, that’s you, that’s liberty. Keep your guns, keep your guns and buy more guns!”

“In 1938, the media reported that Hitler rolled into Austria with tanks and guns and took us over. Not true at all,” she said. “The Austrian people elected Hitler by 98 percent of the vote, by means of the ballot box.

“You might ask, ‘How could a Christian nation … elect a monster like Hitler?’” she concinued. “The truth is, at the beginning Hitler didn’t look like or talk like a monster at all. He talked like an American politician.”

Heed the warnings of a former Hitler Youth member as well in Hilmar von Campe’s riveting book, “Defeating the Totalitarian Lie.”

Werthmann, who is president of the South Dakota Eagle Forum, opposes national identification cards with the same vehemence she opposes gun control, recalling how Germany’s National Socialists, known by the abbreviation “Nazis,” used the innocuous-sounding initiatives to crush individual liberties during the World War II era.

“I lived in Austria under Adolf Hitler’s regime for seven years,” Werthmann writes on the Eagle Forum website. “Dictatorship did not happen overnight. It was a gradual process starting with national identification cards, which we had to carry with us at all times.

“We could not board a bus or train without our ID card,” she continues. “Gun registration followed, with a lot of talk about gun safety and hunting accidents. Since the government already knew who owned firearms, confiscation followed under threat of capital punishment.”

So if the government is trying to ban something, it is paranoid to buy it before the ban? The government has banned dishwasher soap with phosphates. I bought a bunch of it while I still could. The government banned the sale of incandescent light bulbs. I bought a bunch of them while I still could.

Am I paranoid because I did that? How is that different than the gun situation? According to my dictionary, paranoia is "extreme and unreasonable suspicion of other people and their motives". It is irrational NOT to distrust Obama and Holder and their motives, especially when it comes to guns.

Hitler came to power by riding the fear of communism and his espousing of extreme nationalism. He was extremely popular even until the end with the German people. It is those kinds of politicians that I fear. Extreme nationalism is always popular with a large segment of the population of any country. We as country have always been able to distinguish between patriotism and extreme nationalism, but the demagogues who push extreme nationalism have always been with us. Their voices maybe faint today, but they are there if you listen with your hearing aid turned up.

The idea that an armed citizenry could today effectively combat against a tyrannical government is ludicrous. I probably have more guns and ammunition than folks in the surrounding three blocks combined yet I could be taken out in less than 5 minutes by an infantry squad.

Folks who think they are buying guns for protection are simply painting themselves as targets.

About 20 years ago I was walking to my car from a grocery store. On my way I lit a Newport.
When I was almost at my car I saw two men quickly coming towards me. One of them was carrying a machete. As he lifted the machete he yelled "hey you come over here". I threw my bag of groceries at his face & reached for my gun. He swung the machete at my face missing me & knocking my cigarette out of my hand. He then yelled "he's got a gun" & both men ran away.
I believe to this day that they would have killed me had I not had my gun with me.

Your only telling half the story about Hitler.

Yes, but your neighbors would be your most immediate threat. Therein is the best reason to arm up.

Btw, that infantry squad can be planned for but not in a city environment. And you assume the squad would take up arms against American citizens. Early on I am sure they would. The military is full of robots now. Kids who would shoot you at the drop of a hat.

We actually discussed this scenario amongst ourselves when I was in the service. Even in classes. I am told they no longer have these discussions.
