continuing to struggle to get entries for races. Couldn't get the Friday card to even fill, so they will try again on Tuesday.
I think we're going to see a Friday - Sunday racing schedule at Santa Anita very soon.

Is this normal for SA? One of my plans for the new year is to follow the Southern California and NYRA circuits more closely; I've been surprised by the field sizes at SA.

Box seats are $20 a person and you have to buy the whole box, smalles one is 4 person. The $20 includes clubhouse admission.

It has been a problem there for some weeks. I have been looking at Golden Gate as an alternative for a late afternoon card, but they are getting just as bad. Eight races scheduled for Friday. Five of them have 6 horse fields, the other 3 have 8 horses.
Oaklawn opens tomorrow, and they are sure starting out with some good fields (Friday card (http://www.equibase.com/static/entry/OP011014USA-EQB.html)). I am going be giving them a good look.
