They were from the area described by John Prine in "Paradise". Merle Travis was also from Muhlenberg County. R.I.P. Phil.

When Drive In movies were the "in thing" Wake Up Little Suzie used to ring a bell.
I enjoyed the Everlys but they didn't last long on the music scene where I live.

Really?

There are the only recording artists to have ever have 40 Top 100 Billboard records.

I believe you.
In the mid 60's I got married and probably didn't listen to their music that much or didn't notice them as I matured into adulthood.

To be more specific, I believe that they were the only duo ever to have that many.

I'm 40 but I grew up on the Everly Brothers because my grandma always babysat me!Big loss.I still listen to a lot of them and rockabilly to this day.Starting in the mid 80's there was a big resurgence for this. One of my favorite bands Reverend Horton Heat help leading the way.Anyway RIP Phil.
