When I click on the chart icon on the toolbar, a weird, useless box appears mimicking some of my data..but no column chart..or pie chart..etc..etc.

Might anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Provide a few more details on what exactly you're clicking on and elaborate on what you are attempting to do and we can provide better assistance. Also, what version of Excel?

you are not doing anything wrong.....maybe. If you hover your mouse over an open program in office 2010 there is a small box that comes up and shows you what is underneath. if you move your mouse it goes away.



just a thought.
