i had asked my congressman about 10 days ago for an answer and he didn't have one either. maybe because he is a rookie, but i am going to ask some older senators that might have the answer.

Potassium Iodide is used to protect the thyroid during radiation exposure. If you like, spend a half hour on google, and find yourself a quality potassium iodide source. Probably not a bad thing to have on hand, especially if you live near a nuclear power plant.
