The good news: I bet $23,049.50 and collected $25,297.85 for a profit of $2,248.35.

The bad news: All profit was made on 2 big bets on horses I own when I thought they couldn't lose (got lucky and they both won):

1.) $800 win bet at 4-1 odds.

2.) $1,000 win bet at 2-1 odds.

Full disclosure: I normally bet $20-$100 win bets with a few cheap ex. tri. & DD's mixed in.

How did you do this year?

Nice going,Mike. No matter how you got a positive figure, you got one.

My year was so bad that if 2014 isn't a lot better, I'm out of the game. :(

Typical day for me, and I hope it's not a harbinger of 2014 to come.

After a good start, hitting the first race at both Parx and Tampa, I wound up down for the day. What's worse is I managed to leave a $50 voucher in the machine (gone, already cashed when I tried to stop it), AND I cancelled a dime super 1-3-7-11 that I punched in the last at the Big A because "they" weren't betting the 11.

Amazing how I (we?) make the same mistakes over and over again!

Thats my last month. My ADW just started tracking this info, believe it or not.
I know this might be hard to believe but I do show a $1300 profit for the year. I did very well at Gulfstream and Belmont spring/summer. The last month has been a blood bath.

I put $500 into a raceline account last January. I hit a few TRIs and had it up to about $2500. I hit a $1200+ TRI at Saratoga (cash) but probably broke even after slippage (you know beer and stuff). I’ve been boxing hi-fives lately for $120 a pop. My raceline account is falling fast and at $695.71. I will be paying taxes on the TRIs. So I guess, wait till next year. Happy Betting Year to All!

Derby tri was my biggest score of the year...biggest bet of the year is pending till the first Saturday in may...started the year firing on all cylinders till about around July August...have been getting crushed since....im playing very hard now and have been for months...playing horizontal only and attacking. Not going well at the moment but feel confident in the strategy and selections

I've been doing quite well lately sticking to my story, er methods. I only bet
on 2 or 3 races per card now and they are ones in which I know I have the
best chance of making money because my strike rate is high at that track
or type of race. Today, for instance, I hit a $23.60 at Laurel out of two
races I bet on. The other day I hit two double digit horses at Parx out of
two bets. After I handicap, I spend more time looking at the tote to see how
the crowd is betting. It is sort of like taking their pulse. I keep checking the
favorites to make sure they are vulnerable and that the odds are holding up
on my horse and then make my bet. I wish everyone the best of luck in
the coming year. May you think and grow rich playing the ponies.

I made low five figures on greyhounds, mid five figures on poker. After the cost of data, and including rebates, I made $15.43 on the thoroughbreds.
