According to USAToday , Phil and his issued a statement that he regretted the "course language" he used. That was good enough for A&E and all is well in the duck blind.

That and the 250,000+ signatures on an on-line petition that A&E was aware of and was growing by the minute !

Yes, this was strictly a money issue, and given the popularity of DD there was a lot of $$ at stake. Also, they knew that statement was all they were going to get from the Robertsons. Phil was not going to say that he was wrong or that he "misspoke" as liberals do when the heat is on.

Phil was not going to say that he was wrong or that he "misspoke" as liberals do when the heat is on.Well, remember, he might have a few years ago when he was all mixed in the typical liberal mix of alcohol and drugs and sexual immorality and being a shit-heel of a father. Fortunately he found the Lord, and now he's made of sterner, better stuff. Naturally.

Just what the world needs. More real guns that look like toys guns. I have no problem with him selling Shotguns as long as they don't look like a first graders toy.

He polls ahead of the incumbent Dem

"A Democratic poll of the race out Tuesday raised eyebrows and prompted some interest in Robertson, when it showed he was the only Republican tested leading Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) in the race."

Until he gives on the evils of gambling. Then it won't be so funny, will it?As if Democrats have given gamblers lots more options?

New York has been run by Dems by and large...and is there a full scale casino anywhere near the five boroughs of NYC? Nope.

No table games anywhere in NY near NYC. Dems are awesome when it comes to gambling...

But at least they are not awesome in opposing gambling like most republicans. I have a republican congressman and 2 republican senators and all three are adamantly and openly opposed to the return of online poker. I will get a new senator next year who in likelihood will be a republican. I have contacted all the republican candidates and they all oppose the return of online poker. The lone democrat hasn't responded yet, but I am pretty sure he will waffle around the issue. It is frustrating. We have a bill in our legislature to put a vote of the people casino gambling. Our republican governor is pulling out all stops to kill it. I have observed with a few exception here and there to both parties, Republicans oppose openly gambling on moral grounds and Democrat just don't give shit about it one way or the other. Do you really believe if you had a republican governor you would a casino in NYC? one anywhere in NY state outside of an Indian reservation? With democrats you will get one in NYC eventually.
The only republican of any note nationally that has supported expanded gambling opportunities is Christie. Some like Rick Perry have put their name to bills further limiting gambling.
Ask your NY republicans how they stand on gambling issues. I am sure they will respond and if they are anything like the republicans around here, they will not beat around the bush in opposing it. Ask a democrat and you will probably get "hemming and hawing". I will take "hemming and hawing" over open opposition.
