Hello All! For Friday, 12/27, this lineup from the mind of Slew:
Aqueduct - 1,2,3,4,7
Gulfstream - 3,6,7,8,9,10
SantaAnita - 3,5,7,8
Calder - 2,8
Fairgrounds - 5,8
We have a familiar name as a Key Horse for Friday:
Madame Giry - GP ( 9) KEE 10/12/12 # 9
As you can see, we have been following this one for quite a while. Great success early, less so this year. But still a quality runner who finds an open allowance field she should be able to handle.
This is just the kind of race you as a trainer hope will fill, to get your runner back into the flow without facing the usual stakes company she has faced over the last year.
Of course, that also means less than spectacular odds, but they won't be prohibitive (I don't think) so a long look is called for here. Seven will go on the turf if there are no scratches other than the MTO gals,
with Lezcano on the speed and fade Unhedged and Desormeaux on the strong stalker Shrinking Violet. But the lead is for Cor Cor to grab from the outside post with Leparoux up, and she will ensure a fast pace,
just what our darling Madame needs.
Coming off of a freshening (about 11 weeks) the girl ran well off a similar sequence at Gulfsteeam Park, in a similar spot, 365 days ago. That effort came up a 1/2 length short and snapped a 5 race win streak that dated back to her maiden breaker at Belmont Park on July 6, 2012. We're waiting to see if there is another positive form cycle beginning with this race. She should take this crew.
