Incredible that there's no tracks today or tomorrow, even in harness racing.

Two days where horse race tracks get into the religion business instead.

Tracks turning into 'houses or worship' on the 24th and 25th when they might want to stick to what they do best.

But the theaters are open.

And I don't mean just the regular "day to day not showing up." This would be a day of REALLY thin attendance...lol

Ever stay at a casino hotel on Christmas day? I have. Awesome room rates...but pretty damn deader than dead...

Working in casinos on big holidays you find out who the people who don't have family's are.......

Not to mention Xmas eve tables are $25 minimum.......

Yeah, I know, how horrible, what with taking a break for two days so that fans and employees can spend time with their families and friends. They shouldn't be taking any days off for holidays, damnit! If Stillriledup wants to make a bet on these days, it is his God-given right to!

On a serious note, among all the idiotic posts you've made over the years, I'd have to say this one ranks near the top, if not at the top. Which isn't easy, of course, considering what one might call a smart post by you would be considered complete garbage for most posters.

drove by one of the casinos on my way home from the office at about 3pm - I didn't see an empty parking space....I just assumed it was a bunch of people buying Thursday's DRF...

I'm going to take the position that Stillriledup makes a good point.

Families can see their families throughout the year, whether on weekends, they can ask for days off, etc. Why do people need Christmas to see their families? What if there are some workers that would actually prefer to earn money on Christmas because they need the paycheck?

I'd prefer some races tomorrow myself.

All I can say is I stayed at Foxwoods MGM last Christmas and I basically had the run of the joint...

Made me smile ear to ear. If I were there, this would
be the reason.

I was surprised the Form was out out yesterday for Thursday.
I had my day planned out - my Lazy-boy, my snuggie, a cold beer and the DRF to browse while watching the Surviverman marathon. :(

Parx traditionally runs an early program on New Year's Eve, but they've been closed for over a week due to the track condition.

Australia is running today. If you're really desperate for action, a couple of American greyhound tracks are open tonight.
