This is the best news for racing since '81 in Winnipeg. The money this project will bring in will make racing sustainable and part of an overall entertainment complex on the west side of the city. The improvements that are in the works for racing are beyond exciting. Things ranging from horsemen services, physical upgrades to the timer and backstretch. To new and improved technology in the grandstand and a completely new look on presenting racing to its customers because the bottom line of the racetrack will be flush with money that they have to reinvest in the track on some level. This was the best day in a long time out there, and as much as the gov't has tried to stop this, it's finally come to fruition and it couldn't be more exciting.
