I have one. Very cool machine. Voice commands are nice - very easy to set up. I love it - if someone would create a horse racing game and/or app - I would never leave it.

I have a wireless router set up for my laptop. Will I need to plug it into the xbox in order to access the net?

No - not at all. The xbox will find your wifi network and work off it. My modem and router are way upstairs in my office and the xbox is in my family room downstairs.
