Feel free to post your Gulfstream picks in this thread. PM me your email if you'd like the PPs. Living in the NE area of the country, with snow outside, nothing I like better than playing Gulfstream. Just warms my cockles. I love that track.

R2: $10 PLACE :7: War Classic 15-1
This third time starter made a pretty good showing in his last race at the spa in sept. A race where the first two finishers won their next race. He'll be flying late and hopes to catch a hot pace. Trainer's not bad at long layoffs.

R4: $10 PLACE :1: Skinner 8-1
Another third time starter who earned decent speed figures in his first two at a major track. Top notch jockey and trainer for a maiden claimer race. Hoping the inside post helps this gelding wire the field, which lacks speed.

R7: $10 WIN :5: Palace Gate 8-1
This is a good price for a Todd Pletcher/ JJ Castellano entry. Second time starter who did ok in his debut at Belmont. Only downside is it was a maiden claimer race on the turf(this race is on the dirt), so that might keep the price reasonable.

R8: $10 SHOW :4: Bluegrass Derby 30-1
(see LetsWasteMoney's "12/14 Pick of the Day: Gulfstream Race 8" thread)

$0.50 Pick 4
R2: 4,7 / 3,5,6 / 1,3,7,10,12,13,14 / 3 = $21

$0.20 Pick 6
R5: 3 / 2 / 3,5,6,7,9,12 / 3,4,6,7,8,9,11,12,13 / 3,5 / 1,3,4,8,11,12 = $130

War Classic looked awesome coming out of the gate and took the lead until the quarter pole but then faded. Held on for a game 4th. This gelding has been off for three months and apparently needed a race to get back into the swing. Look for him next time.

In race 4, Skinner got bet down to 5/2 so I ended up taking the 7 Ingenuity, at 6-1 who finished second. Unfortunately, I bet him to win only. Skinner held on for a game 4th.

In race 7, Palace Gate got off to a bad start. Came flying late and grabbed third.

In race 8, Bluegrass Derby was another that looked good at the beginning of the race. After 4 furlongs, at 94-1, he looked like the pick of the century. Unfortunately he tired and ended up last. I guess there was a reason why he was 94-1.

Tough weekend but I'll be back next Friday for another episode of Lets waste Money! See you then.
