Race One:

#4 Pembroke Lil has been very sharp. Especially good on a wet track. The veteran, Billy Parker, in the sulky. Underneath: #s 1,2,3,5.

Race Two:

#3 Maximum Viking was a classy sort a half-dozen years ago. Can he recapture even a semblance of his past form? Greg Merton in the bike helps. Also, #s 1,2, and 6

Oops...Maximum Viking scratched. #5 Mechanical Bull is dropping down; yet, he doesn't handle a wet surface very well. Aldrich will likely have him gunning for the lead. Will he stay? Can he stay? I think he useable but vulnerable. As cited, also, #s 1,2, and 6.

Race Three:

Three horses immediately catch my attention: # 2 Thunder Seelster, the prohibitive fave; #3 Putnams Art, a medium-priced horse; and #4 Multiple Choice, a current longshot. Wouldn't it be somethin' if the #4 popped. In addition I like #6, and possibly #1 to be in the superfecta.

Race Four:

I like the "inside" horses to prevail here. Which one will end up on top is another story. I'm going to go with what I consider the "back-class" horse, #3 Three New Dawns. Forget this horse's last effort. He was gunned out from the eight-hole and never reached the top. Out of it at the half. He now gets a better post and the services of the most capable Greg Merton. If you're playing gimmicks, underneath: #s 1,2,4 and 6.

Race Five:

This is no ruse, chicanery or subterfuge. I'm casting my lot with what is currently a medium-longshot. Forget the recent qualifier and past performances. If this mare is reasonably ready, she's a factor. I'm talkin' about #4 Monet's Lilly. Underneath: #s 1, 3, 2, and 6.

Race Six:

#3 Mixed Media appears to be the horse to beat here. Bruce Aldrich going for yet another win. Underneath: #s 4,7,6,2

Race Ten;

#7 Hickory Louie is the horse to beat; yet, he's coming from as far out as he's been in a long time. No lead-pipe cinch. I'd love to try to beat him. I'm thinkin the #1 Reflection of Blue. or possibly, #4 Sammy Savannah or #5 Jersey Dan. You might toss in the #2 Always an Optimist to possibly complete a gimmick.

Race Eleven:

#4 Lauxmont Capri just missed hanging on in his last. A well-rated trip could very well put this gelding in the winner's circle. Underneath: #s 1,3,6,and 7.

Race Twelve:

#2 Election Day is my choice in the finale. A couple things: Greg Merton won the last race. Can he bring in both ends of the late double. This gelding has a degree of back-class. Not much, lately; but maybe a wakeup call here.

Underneath: #s 1, 5, and 4.
