Well, don't go chasing me with pitchforks if this one loses. She is 30/1, and the value is part of the attraction.
BRIS PPs (http://www.brisnet.com/php/bw_pdf_viewer.php?track=TP&race=7¶m1=640¶m2=6720¶m3=1183644)
:3: La Malaguena (30/1) was sixth by one length in her last polytrack try, which was at Keeneland, and earned a very high 91 BRIS speed figure. She was also pace compromised, as BRIS shows -5 for 1c and -13 for 2c.
What does it mean to be pace compromised?
Using BRIS, if the horse is a closer, generally it's going to be tough to close if the pace is any amount below 0. BRIS is saying the field went 13 points below par at 2c, which means the leaders were saving a considerable amount of energy. Also note the third place finisher in that polytrack effort returned to win. You can tell by the italics.
It would help if there are no scratches in the race, as she needs every bit of pace up front as possible.
