Anyone here use it?
Can't type & vision is going downhill.
I would expect it to be functional in Win 7, Office 2007 & IE.
How about games - Solitaire, Poker & others?
Thanks

I have several licenses (for different machines) and have given it to a couple of friends.

It is an excellent program and the newest version works amazingly well out of the box, far better than versions before 10.

It DOES make mistakes but is trainable.

Be warned: If you use the newest version on an XP-era machine, you might find your system short on resources and the Dragon will suggest that you not use it for programs like Word, etc.

It works very well on this website, BTW.

I would suggest that you would probably require a quiet environment to have much succes with the Dragon. Its not like you could have a group of friends jabbering away in the room and hope to be successful using it.

Carry on, Dave.

I asked my friend, Siri, about Dragon. She had nothing to say.

LOL. I use Siri for texting. Works just fine.

windows has a speech program that works ok. Has a curve getting used to you but does alright when it is done.

I hope it's better than the Synch in my Ford vehicle.

It barely passes being useful, and, I haven't trained it, it's trained me. I'm not kidding. To use it to make a call, I have to: turn off the AC/heater blower, make sure the windows and sun roof are closed, make sure I am more or less speaking toward the microphone in the rear view mirror and loudly and slowly.

When I failed to perform any of those requirements, more often than not, I do not get the correct phone book entry. My son gets a good laugh every time, though, I am not sure if he's laughing at me or Synch.

Husker,

I tried it on my Win8 laptop. It was so bad in comparison to Dragon that I just turned it off and bought another license for Dragon.

BTW, removing the speech recognition program in Win8 was very difficult. Once you turn it on, there is no easy way to remove it. And it is a resource hog (as is the Dragon). It took quite a bit of googling to find out how. Not intuitive.

thanks for the info Dave. I will check it out. I just started using it and got use to it.

Guess I had better do some comparison shopping.

I've used Dragon for some years now. The latest version, 12, works very well. However, as Dave pointed out, you need to pay attention because it bobbles words sometimes.

Mary got me the program for christmas! Boys and girls, this program is a lot nicer than microsoft. Once you get used to it and the program gets used to you , the amount of work you can do is a lot. Mine doubled, (yea I know...I am not that fast) :D , but there is a huge difference.

I recommend it!

Good Luck! :)

Does anyone know if Dragon will work with Open Office or other open source software?

I used it briefly but the mistakes were more than I could tolerate.

It is possible that my accent was to blame though...

Bill,

It should work fine. It works with just about everything.

It works with PaceAdvantage, and other websites. It works with my TreePad.

In fact, it is working bright KNOW.

(Yes, that was a joke.)
