I have three twitter accounts:

@ovals - my personal account
@bridgejumper - creator and moderator of the Bridgejumper Alert Service
@HSTOffice - Hastings Racecourse Racing Office - horsemen-centric related to the entries and nominations

My ratio of who I follow to who follows me is 10/1. I rarely tweet, but use it to keep up with news, horses, sports, etc.

My handle is @Michael Napolitano.

wiffle,

I agree 63k posts here vs 7 at Twitter. I am just trying to get re-established there. I think Twitter is a good place to get horse racing info. Especially timely stuff.

@spicetruck - started it off to "hold" the handle for my cooking related hobby. Now, it is mostly horse related and I do use it more on Fri/Sat. Especially love following @qheddie and @losponies at Los Alamitos and of course.. TLG for nyra
I have another handle @narienergy - I rarely use this but hope to use it more for Energy Industry related stuff (line of work).

PS: Folks new to Twitter may be overwhelmed by my daily 20-25 posts,
but once you follow +100 people, it won't seem like a lot. Sorry
to those ex-new followers that unfollowed quickly after following...

I'm guilty of "twitter creeping" your account.......I read 2 posts and went away....makes me think I'm a rookie betting/handicapping

If your father had a twitter account followers would multiply everyday....a very funny man!!!!!!

I'm not a fan of Twitter. The addiction level, is notoriously huge. The only person I have bookmarked on all my devices, for his knowledge and his opinions, is Andy S. (TLG). When one has 9K (plus) people interested in their thoughts, they matter. They warrant respect.

I'm sorry, The Spaah is right. The gray matter in the heads of Beiber's 47.2 MM, combined, couldn't equal that of Andy's 9,000+... not even on their best day.

Twitter is a great place for both getting and sharing information. For example there was a long discussion last night among about 10 users whether racing is "Entertainment" similar to movies or plays as well as who the customer in racing really is (trainer, owner, bettor). Unlike many boards I've participated in over the years, there is very little snarkiness or flaming among racing peeps on twitter.

I don't mean to read unkind, but the brevity of Twitter is great. Limited snippets. Therefore, leaving a lot on the table. I read your link, and I'm sorry but it doesn't seem to qualify as either a long, or an in depth discussion, though, granted I only saw your input, I didn't expand to others. Snarky, sadly, is alive and well, everywhere online, but the good thing about Twitter, there's a name attached to most of it and you can block it, I understand. :)

I always find it interesting that the biggest names in the sport that are on twitter, Baffert, Talamo, Paulick, Gary Stevens etc have usually between 8 and 20 thousand followers.

yet the top three horse racing people according to followers are:

Keeneland Dan--46,000+ his website is www.fatbaldguyracing.com I'd never heard of him until twitter but he must be super popular

Justin Zayat---46,000+ he's a racing and stallion manager at Zayat Stables

and the top guy in the sport on twitter...

Ahmed Zayat with 133,000 plus followers!

You should tell him that you're the reigning champion of the $100,000 World Harness Handicapping Championship contest ...and he's a slap dick comedian who you've never heard of.

After doing so, hit him at $2,500 for the purchasing rights to your Twitter handle.
