Hello All! For Saturday, 11/16 we have the following list from Slew:
Aqueduct - 2,3,5,6,7,9
Hollywood - 2,3,4,5,6,7,8
Churchill - 2,3,7,9
Gulfstream - 3,7
Woodbine - 8
Calder - 2,3,6,9
Parx - 2,9
Just because there are no Key Horses running doesn't mean there aren't horses on Slew's list that could be key to your wagering strategy.
Two come to mind from the listing for Churchill Downs. In the Commonwealth Turf Stakes (race 7), a 100K Grade 3, Winning Cause moves back into straight 3 year old company after competing against older in graded stakes at Keeneland. At 4-1 on the ML, and with Pletcher and Rocco managing his corner, he merits a look. Especially with this "hidden drop".
In race 9, Effie Trinket sits atop Slew's list for the Mrs. Revere Stakes, a 175K Grade 2. This is a very nice NY Bred by Freud has done nothing wrong since the spring. Freud, in case you haven't noticed, has been a NY leading sire multiple times. While he only won 1 race in his career, this full brother to Giant's Causeway has produced many high quality runners as NY breds. By Storm Cat, this bloodline gives his offspring an almost unfair advantage.
Effie Trinket is tagged at 10-1 on the ML, and runs for Rick Violet with Bridgmohan in the irons.
And if your handicapping brain gets clogged and you don't know where to turn, how about Slew's lone horse at Woodbine, in a word play on one of the great movies ever made: Tequilamockingbird.
