It’s week-old news, but Darley was the leading Owner at recently completed Belmont Fall meet. That’s no mean feat considering that they rarely have any entries in claiming races. The Belmont Fall meet always seems to be a good one for them as they arrive with lightly-raced fillies with conditions left.
Possibly that results from their being more concerned with breeding than racing. Maybe someone with more horse knowledge can comment on this supposition: Do breeders consider that an aggressive training-racing regimen at 2yo/early 3yo compromises a filly’s future career as a broodmare?
