Those knocks on the door should be starting any minute now.

But in the meantime, a little exploration via my browser.

I've heard of most places on this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Register_of_Historic_Places_listings_in_S an_Diego_County,_California) list and I've been to most of them. However, there are a few that are new to me even after having lived in and around San Diego for 4 decades.

And when I went looking for this (http://www.hiddensandiego.net/suspension-bridge.php) gem, it's not on the registry list. Oh well.

God bless you Hewell, I miss ya.

My wife is into flowers.
Next spring I was thinking of touring so cal and perhaps taking in
1. Carlsbad fields
2. the Cordoba Flower Festival.
Have you been to that festival and is it worthwhile visiting?

Thank you,

Greyfox

I've only been to the flower fields. That is worth it. Check here next year: http://gocalifornia.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi=1/XJ&zTi=1&sdn=gocalifornia&cdn=travel&tm=18&f=20&su=p284.13.342.ip_&tt=6&bt=5&bts=5&zu=http%3A//www.theflowerfields.com/

Nearby, is Quail Gardens. You can easily spend the entire day there.

Depending upon a number of unpredictable factors, the wild flower bloom usually in the spring in the local deserts is a catch-as-you-can event and very worthwhile if you are lucky and ready. The rangers do the best they can to alert the public. Almost always you be going to spots in the Anza Borrego desert: http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=638 . Also: http://www.abdnha.org/pages/03flora/reports/current.htm . Many other web sites.
