We want to thank so many of you nice PA friends who sent John cards, email and well wishes during his stay in hospital in 2011. ESPN has been working on this show for a long time....they will be interviewing the little girl's father and I think show the film they did last summer of John meeting this little girl for the first time. :)

Lets have a 1 mile race on the undercard of the SA Derby or the SA Handicap called the "Shear Mile". I'd love to see a race named after him!

Lets get it done Santa Anita!

Thanks, SRU......I think when this ESPN thing is over, John will have had enough of the publicity from Santa Anita. It was important for him to get to meet this little girl, which we did. John has dozens and dozens of wonderful friends at Santa Anita.....the reason he still works is that he enjoys it!
Hope some of you guys get to watch the e-60 show Tuesday. :)

On my cable guide they are listing E60 as profiling Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch?

They always have 3 20minuet segments. John will just be one of them.
It will run tomorrow on e-60. We just got a definitive confirmation. :)

Great Story. I hope everyone gets a chance to see it. I'm sure it will be replayed.

Very cute with the 8 year old shy ballerina. John is certainly an inspiration.

A great lead-in to the Breeders Cup...

Speechless....What a person!

'I'm 90-years-old. I have had a life. She hasn't had a life,' he said. 'You got to save that life.'

SoCalFan, I saw part of E-60 last week, but not all. I missed the piece on John. But tonight, I saw this link from ABC News and tears filled my eyes, watching. :( Such a moving video of an act, a decision made instantly without care or thought, whatsoever, for one's own life.

It was devastating when John was so badly hurt, I believe everyone here remembers it well. You are incredibly blessed to be married to one of the bravest, most selfless individuals I've ever had the pleasure of listening to.

God bless John and you. I hope you have many more years together.

Thank you, all you wonderful guys here on PA. You have been with me for moral support since this happened. We'll never forget your kind words and prayers.
Thank you so much.

Awesome, John!!!!

In this day and age, where all the news seems to be lousy and everyone seems to be arguing with each other, it is uplifting to know there are people like you in this world who put someone else first when it really mattered.
