Race 8 - 7f gr3 $200k handicap 3up

I've included a Poll for who you think will win the race. The discussion is for how you would bet the race.

Free Bris PP can found under Trainer Todd Pletcher.

The Poll is in the PP order not necessarily Program order.

I think most likely winner is Jacobsen's horse although not knowing the odds can't say he is a good bet. The distance might not be his best but he appears fastest and likes Belmont. Can't discount the 4 and 5 shippers. Exacta key box 6/45.

It looks like any one of these can win this race. I see the final time at 1:22 +/-. :6: Strapping Groom won a Gr1 two races ago (8/31/13) at 7f but, I'm going with :3: Saturday's Charm (M/L 10 - 1) to win. He seems to be in good form and I don't think he is outclassed.

From charts:

CLEARLY NOW gave chase from the two path, was kept to confident handling as SNAPPING GROOM extended the lead after the initial fraction had been recorded, turned for home still having not been asked for his best, lugged inward slightly, positioning himself directly abreast of the pacesetter, was given his cue shortly afterwards and unleashed a bold burst of speed, shot by, drifted over to the rail at the furlong marker, holding a clear advantage, dug in well thereafter to preserve the decision. FORTY TALES saved ground until the quarter pole, was already under solid encouragement by the five-sixteenths pole, finished willingly but had to settle for the place. SATURDAY'S CHARM off the inside, proved no match. STRAPPING GROOM out broke the field and maintained control, was sent over to the rail, opened up on the competition after the initial fraction had been set, entered the stretch with none latched on, got pounced upon by the winner near the three-sixteenths pole, yielded when unable to match that rival's acceleration, altered off heels shortly afterwards, backed away in short order.

1 out of 11 voted for the winner no scratches.
