My license expires this year. I have the option to select either a VERIFIED or REGULAR renewal.

A VERIFIED license "meets future federal standards for domestic air travel and other federal purposes."

Does anyone know the pros/cons and costs/benefits of a VERIFIED versus REGULAR driver's license?

If I were an illegal I'd go for VERIFIED.

If you were an illegal you could not get a VERIFIED -- unless, maybe you were a spy with a forged U.S. Passport and proof of permanent U.S. residence.

In NYS we have an Enhanced drivers license option. It can be used instead of a passport when traveling back into the USA, for identification.
