In the BRIS data structure for the single file format, I see that it contains the times for the first fraction (i.e., times at 2 furlongs) but I don't see beaten lengths corresponding to those times.

Can someone please tell me if I am overlooking the 2f beaten lengths or that they are not there.

This is what you're looking for...

636- 645 Start Call BtnLngths/Ldr margin 99.99 5
646- 655 Start Call BtnLngths only 99.99 5
656- 665 1st Call BtnLngths/Ldr margin NUMERIC 99.99 5
666- 675 1st Call BtnLngths only
676- 685 2nd Call BtnLngths/Ldr margin NUMERIC 99.99 5
686- 695 2nd Call BtnLngths only
696- 705 BRIS Race Shape - 1st Call NUMERIC 999 3
706- 715 Reserved
716- 725 Stretch BtnLngths/Ldr margin NUMERIC 99.99 5
726- 735 Stretch BtnLngths only
736- 745 Finish BtnLngths/Wnrs marginNUMERIC 99.99 5
746- 755 Finish BtnLngths only

I believe there is not a 2 furlong beaten length, just 1st call.

Thanks Picsix, but I believe the 1st Call is 2F only for sprints. In routes, the 1st Call is 4F. I'd like the 2F information in both sprints and routes.

The Bris files do not give you a 2f time or B/Ls at all race distances.
