This news is almost two weeks old and somewhat flew under the radar. However, for those of us that wore a uniform at some time during the Vietnam conflict his passing will have meaning. Giap was supreme commander of communist forces in Vietnam, fighting first against the French and later the United States and her allies. A hard line communist, he was willing to take very heavy casualties in order to win goals.
