This Ben Carson?

While speaking at the Values Voter Summit, Ben Carson, the celebrated neurosurgeon and recent Fox News hire, called Obamacare “the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery,” according to a new report from Right Wing Watch.

Carson went on to argue that the healthcare program “is slavery, in a way, because it is making all of us subservient to the government.” The bill was passed, he continued, not in order to improve America’s healthcare system or provide insurance to those who could not obtain it otherwise, but rather because “it was about control.”

That Ben Carson?

Ben Carson

Benjamin Solomon "Ben" Carson, Sr., (born September 18, 1951) is a retired American neurosurgeon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurosurgery). Among other surgical innovations, Carson did pioneering work on the successful separation of conjoined twins joined at the head (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craniopagus_twins). He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidential_Medal_of_Freedom), the highest civilian award in the United States, by President George W. Bush (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_W._Bush) in 2008. After delivering a widely publicized speech at the February 2013 National Prayer Breakfast (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Prayer_Breakfast), he became a popular figure in conservative (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservatism_in_the_United_States) media for his views on social issues and the government's role in the health care industry.

Yes Hcap you are the better man!

By the very same anti-american group that will run nO-Care - the IRA, er, IRS.
I get them mixed up a lot, both are terrorist groups. A pattern of targeting conservatives is undeniable. Obama is an evil SOS.

It's a disgrace that any U.S. citizen worth $10M did not get audited once in 40 years. No wonder this country is broke.

Why is that?
Just because he has money?

How do you feel about auditing those on welfare, food stamps.......or are only rich people dishonest.

You're right, Tom. Let's audit people with no money. That should really help "voluntary compliance" and bring in a ton of tax revenue.

I know conservatives seem to think that if you are in a position to steal millions, you had ought to get a pass (unless you are a high profile democrat), but the government ought to spend thousands going after everybody who spends food stamps on a 12 pack of Pepsi. (which is legal by the way and always has been even Reagan was president). Cost effective is a term that conservatives don't seem to grasp.

Of course. Presumption of guilt until proven innocent. Anyone with that much money must have screwed over some people somewhere along the line or cheated on their taxes. That's the American way.

Total BS. Most audits are not predicated on a presumption of guilt. But random audits do encourage voluntary compliance.

It appears that you have a chip on your shoulder. Turn off the radio and watch something besides FOX News.

At least until your shoulder heals. :p

When we say "most" ( in reference to the IRS) .....I think you're right Stinks. I mean what could possibly go wrong with that agency? It's not like they would ever possibly TARGET certain individuals or groups.....

Aside from the non-profits accusation, name another so-called political scandal associated with the IRS in your lifetime.

Family Research Council's Values Voter Summit of 2013 is a bit pathetic.

Oct. 11-13, 2013
Omni Shoreham Hotel
Washington, D.C.

Standing for Faith, Family and Opportunity for All

You guys are missing all the action. Only yesterday Ted Cruz made a bigger fool out of himself than the good doctor. And no wonder they are angry....

A iron fence and sign saying "Because of the federal government shutdown, this stage area is closed except for 1st Amendment activities." Which must have been a catchy slogan to someone.

I think it completely reasonable that a doctor could be worth $10M after 40 years of working, saving, and investing without breaking any tax law. There are a large number of people that have accomplished this.

But random audits do encourage voluntary compliance.

You'd know better, but I didn't think all audits were truly random. I thought there was a degree of income profiling in the audit process. It makes sense that there would be.

I agree that $10M is realistic. I didn't say the good doctor broke any tax laws. Just surprised he avoided even one audit in 40 years.

Surely you jest.

One again, a no thought response from the left.

And they BOTH completely IGNORE the real facts here - the audit came IMMEDIATELY after he questioned the chosen one. Like When the neighbor who ran over Gotto's kid and killed him turned up dead not long after - just a happy coincidence.

These guys are not capable of facing reality. Barry's Bozos

Wow.

Truth vs power hour where the good doctor in the guise of the common man gets to the nitty-gritty of democratic malfeasance.
