I think Golden Cents is just a pure miler, maybe a 7,5 furlongs horse, but not a top class sprinter. Should go to the Breeder's Cup Dirt Mile.

Thank you, it's nice to hear a perspective on a bias or track. Sounds like you know Santa Anita pretty well ?


To the credit of POINTS OFFTHEBENCH, after watching the replay, he had similar position to Goldencents (indicating a probable fair trip between them), and POB moved first (usually that indicates the first horse was better and the 2nd horse benefited more from the pace) a little tougher if we assume that the track was aiding speed.

Nonetheless it's not a stretch to say POB not only won, but was likely the better horse (nothing really stands out to say that GC had an unfair trip compared with POB).

I like GC and I excuse his derby for that insane pace they ran early. Many wrote him off as distance challenged. His Preakness was disappointing. I had him as the Oxbow for that day over ORB. Bing Crosby was dissapointing.
O'brien was stronger IMO.

Although I like his gameness and stamina more than some other handicappers (not the fans but the strict cappers), He may be more like Grade 1.5 than Grade 1.

Hope they both come out of the race like gangbusters and we see a REMATCH.

He's one of those like many, who is different "on his day".

I am picturing a hot pace and a big field coming back to him in the BC Sprint.

I actually almost like 6F or Classic.

Mile best distance(and sometimes easier class), but 6F = pace collapse , Classic = really unrealistic, but gets out and pulls a Fort Larned...

mr fischer goldecents has always ran 1/16 or longer im sure you know that. know he is going aginst older and some of the best sprinters and the world like they did artax. he is know artax but goldie has won me alot of money. he is a grade -1 horse i think he needs to run at a mile. just my 2cents.
