I thought they'd wait till the trade deadline - guess not.

It says they eat his salary, but if another team picks him up, don't they assume the contract?

Allegedly he didnt win and he "rubbed" the head coach the wrong way. There is some inner turmoil there, the veteran players don't love the "rah rah" college style of coaching. Probably a lot more that happened behind the scenes than meets the eye.

Josh will join LeGarett Blount and Akeeb Taleeb and others as starters for another team that didn't play at Rutgers.

Schiano seems to rub a lot of guys the wrong way. Is it all them?

Also the timing of the move from Freeman to the rookie was odd. Why not wait until after the bye week? As bad as Freeman was, they could've been 2-0 after the first 2 games. And last week was winnable; not sure you'd want a rookie in there. You have legit weapons with Doug Martin, Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams. Granted, Freeman has been bad, but he did have one big year; around 25 TDs and only 6-7 INTs. If he did it relatively recently (2010), have to think there's a chance he could do it somewhere.

Lets not forget, Gruden won a Super Bowl down there and they eventually ran him out.

If everyone in the organization including ownership, coaches and players had zero ego and were on the same page to win as a team ,none of this would have happened. We dont know the ins and outs of what happened, but it smells like someone's ego got in the way.

I don't know about the B.S between the egos (like SRU mentioned), or the drug test histories (and whether a deal was made with the league to give Freeman his release / remaining contract)...

Just starting with the basics, = Freeman is a Backup or a Game Manager who has been falsely hyped as an elite QB or a "young Qb" w/ elite potential.

The Bucs wasted a 1st round draft pick on him. Freeman also cost an insane $9,760,000 against the cap this year.

There's nothing that can make Freeman look like a potential top-10 QB that you would build an offense around.

This blame has to go on the front office, for poor drafting and salary cap allocation.

He may be a goofball too, who knows... He actually played well enough to still give a serious look as a backup.

nope. he apparently has a really good agent. no language in his contract about a new team assuming the salary.

he collects from tampa bay and whomever he signs with.

he collects from tampa bay and whomever he signs with.If he was traded or claimed off waivers the new team takes on the salary. If he signs after he clears waivers, then Tampa pays what they owe him and the4 new team pays him extra. I read some place it is part of the collective bargaining agreement.

Completing passes at a rate of 45.7% and posting a league low QB rating of 59.3 thru 3 games sealed the deal.
