With all this emotion surrounding Mariano and Andy and their retirements, i thought it might be interesting to see other records of "final apperanaces", i found this to be interesting.

There are 11, yes 11, players in MLB who have hit a HR in their final career at bat and that HR was the only HR of their careers.

Another player, a fine gentleman named John Miller, who is currently 69 years old, and still alive according to Wikipedia, had 63 career plate appearances and hit a HR in his first career AB and his last career AB. Here's John Miller's baseball reference page.

Here's the wikipedia page listing all the players who Homered in their final career ABs.

It's not a record (and neither is anything posted in the OP) but Richie Ashburn once fouled off a ball and injured a fan. As she was being helped out of the stands he fouled off another ball and hit her again.

That's wild, a bit similar to where Denard Span hit a foul ball into the stands and hit his mom.
