That is the coolest thing I've seen in quite a while. Loved watching him/her looking all around while in flight...

Wonder why they cut it off for the landing...I would have liked to have seen that...lol

I love to watch it, too. If you want about 3 hours of it, including those close-ups of the eagle's prey trying to hide from the eagle, and much, much more, it is on PBS in a limited series called "Earthflight: A Nature Special" (or something like that).

All of you are right. I wasn't a big nature guy until I hit this on the tube. This is what HD super-mini cams were made for. Huge flocks of geese, flamingos, even bats are shown as if the camera is within 2 or 3 inches of them as they fly. Plus, another bird (very close) has a camera on its head, so you can watch as they hunt prey or just glide the thermals from the Grand Canyon and all kinds of beautiful scenery.

The hour on America up to Canada is great. Africa is great, too. And, another episode is the same as the others, but done in Europe (for example, the eagle is replaced with a falcon.)

I love the camera work, these lucky flying friends, and the fantastic views.

I had never realized how cool it would be to fly...the view from above is really that nice and smooth.

I'd bet that the series is available on www.PBS.org (http://www.PBS.org), but you can click on this link for a full-screen, HD preview: http://video.pbs.org/video/2365076841/

This limited series is running on the national PBS feed, and in my tiny town, ran tonight with a late-night repeat.

This series is expensive, so you know that it will repeat, plus probably be archived on PBS.org for replay whenever you wish.

I hope the links lead you to it, as I was amazed by both the birds and the technology used to make the shots so smooth.
