Have just looked over the first couple of races so far. Another great card set today for the former Dueling Grounds - nice weather today as well. Perhaps the rain has softened up the course a bit, so we'll see if closers can get there today.

Race 1: Keying a price with the :7: dog, as he's consistent lately and looks like a nice fit with these. Exacta savers with :5: and :11: , and doubles with :3: and :7: in the second.

First couple of races seem to indicate the speed bias is still there, though perhaps not as strong. Winner of the second was much the best.

Race 3: taking the :7: dog getting blinkers.

:7: with :6: :8: :14:

Not a big fan of the :11: , though of course the SPA is a classier track and he's had some troubled trips - just offers no value.

In the 3rd, the :7: seemed to go wide turning for home, and could only close up for fourth.

Race 4: :7: dog seems well placed in this - not a great price, but maybe I'll catch the tri.

Hmmm. Not a sniff in the 4th. Winner improved from last.

Race 5: Nice 2YO stakes. Playing the :4: , as Rosie should get a nice trouble-free trip near the front end.

Rosie gave the :4: a nice ride in the 5th, but no match for the chalk late.

Race 6: Three scratches shorten this up to a five horse field. Playing a few beans on the :6: , as he showed the versatility to win 1st out through traffic, and I don't see why that skill won't translate to KY Downs. Saver exacta with the :7: , who enjoyed an unusual summer holiday in France.

Race 7: Going to go with the proven class horse of the field, and hope the :7: fires off the layoff. Avalanche of money for the deuce who won the race last year on a yielding course.

Grrgh. Struggling today, but did get a couple of picks in the super last race.

Race 8: Like the :4: horse, since he's in good form and likes the course. :7: romped in this race last year, but again, on a yielding course, though he's got some good runs on firm turf as well.

:4: with :2: :7: :11:

:11: loses brutal photo on the bob in last - glad I didn't key him. Would have been crying.

Race 9: Keying the plodding :3: who loved the 12 furlongs when he ran it the one time.

:3: with :1: :7: :9:

Lot of chalk today, except for the 4th. Get out race has me on the second choice in the early betting - the :10: dog. One start under her belt back at the Fairgrounds. She showed enough speed to be close enough to win this.
