Stable acolytes have been touting the prospect that this one has finally found his spot tonight. More vet work and some trainer adjustments purportedly have him sitting on a much improved run. With over $70K invested and less than $4K in purse earnings since acquisition, one can understand if these souls are looking through rose=colored glasses.

His back-to-back 33 Beyer's in another small field of rock bottom maiden claimers at Penn stamp him a threat regardless. Most of these, if they stumble across a field they can best, usually never win again unless its at Beulah or Fairmont.

Interesting proposition at 3-1 or better and as a possible follow-up should tonight's run look much better than his previous 9.

Pick 4 single?

I'm singling him. I'm told the stable will be betting with both hands filled with Grants. Cash left over from the recent trip to Lexington.

RACE 4: :5: MACHO GRIS is unexposed routing on dirt and with the drop (12k > 5k) should win. The second leg of the exacta in wide open but smells big longshot.

exacta :5: with ALL

:5: broken down, it's a beautiful saturday for me

R5: :6: AP CINO goes from strength to strength and after 4 weeks off there's not risk of a bounce after his last race 90 Beyer, 6 points above today's par. He's pretty cold in the betting right now... like last time.

1st ($14.40)

I can't believe such a good odds with this horse, not a betting stable at all

Thanks. Might try to key the :6: in the 7th as well. Either got in a easy race last out or just looks like a monster at Penn coming in from Santa Anita

R6: (5)NORTE GRANDE fires always coming from a layoff, but usually he's got some stamina problems to finish after running in front... :6: LONELY LION was doing everything right and now, back on his game sprinting should have the stamina reinforced and will close from mid pack.

R7: Many of this bunch have won enjoying uncontested leads but :1: SLEW'S FAST knows how to rate and pass horses, and his best races were coming from layoffs (61 and 58 Beyer in a MSWt in Laurel). He has excuses in his last two. :2: RELENTLESS RUSH is the speed of the speed with a bounce risk in a quick return first time against winners.

Penn National has the highest Pick 4 takeout (28%) in the United States.

This would have paid a few hundred more at any other track outside Pennsylvania but would have paid a few hundred less if the #11 had a single digit program number. Lot's of "address number" players at Penn. So, on the whole I guess we did OK.

8 winning $1 tickets were sold. You can now refer to Mr. Shemp as a market mover!!

Nice call on the pick. Those who bet may have cashed a ticket but Partners lost a bundle.

Maybe someone will claim him for $5K next start and they can cut their losses at $6oK.
