The guy from Balmoral on Sunday night!
Right after the eleventh race winners circle presentation, after announcing the winning trainer, he says, and I see the parlay money is in. I am thinking what the hell. That same trainer has a horse the next race, 8-1 morning line, and opens at 6-5. Low and behold he wins.
This guy is either in kahoots with some of those crooked trainers at BMP, or extremely stupid to give his horse away for all to bet!

Well lets see, the announcer says "And I see the parlay money is in".
You don't possibly think that he was talking about the DRIVER (Tim Tetrick) now do you? I mean after all, he just brought in a $36 winner the very race before and was about to bring up his name right after that statement.
Naw, the announcer must be crooked. Or stupid. Ummhmm.
Zman (I can hear the Scarecrow singing to Dorothy now....)

My question is, why make a comment like this at all? I mean its common knowledge that the trainers and drivers bet, but maybe not to the new fans, you know, the ones we need for this sport to survive? I just thought it was extremely unprofessional, and so did track management obviously!

where did you hear that? anyway he didn't say that the trainer or driver bet. sounds to me like, trainer/driver combo wins race, next race same combo opens at 6/5, parley money is in. big deal, people bet on this game believe it or not. and if i don't even know what your talking about i doubt a newbie would even have gave it half a seconds thought, except maybe to wonder what a parley is.

Was it Scott Ehrlich or Domineck Polito?

Explain to me where you got the information that track management took exception to his remarks. I mean, now you're trying to speak on behalf of track management?
Stop trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.

What I don't get out of this is that announcers are not supposed to 'give out' horses that win?
The track doesn't care who wins.. Whether they get a $100 horse or a $2.10 horse, they get the same cut of the pools.
Sharp announcers will point out sharp horses..

Well, its obvious here that common sense is truly a blessing and not a given...
In the day and age of drivers getting thrown out for fixing races at Northfield...In the day and age of the new detention barn policies that Balmoral has employed in the recent week...in the day and age of people like Ron Marsh being let back in to drive in Chicago...Shouldn't it be a duty by Track Management to emphasise to the public that this is NOT strictly an insiders game?
The way the announcement came off to me and several others is a slap in the face to those who study quarter times and class and post position improvements and all the other handicapping basics any old common Joe should know. Because when its all said and done fellas, the parlay money was in...and the horse did win....and to the "fans of the sport", it seemed like another insider success story...

You aren't exactly exhibiting common sense..
If you believe they were in cahoots or that the fix was in or anything related to that - You should pack your shit up and throw away ALL your horseracing related material. You should never feed your money into this sport ever again.
You took it the wrong way and you are trying to make something out of nothing. Let it go.
