Amid doing other things today (work) I came upon one thing which led to another...y'all might find any or all (or none) of it interesting.

On the Allman Brothers forum I saw a post from the 7th noting that 10 years ago to that day Warren Zevon had past away. Big Zevon fan, hadn't listened to him in a while:

His final performance:

Came upon the phrase Enjoy every sandwich which led to this book:

I like reading stuff like this so will put on the to do list,

came upon this article:

and remembered this book, which I had scanned several years back, may pick up again:

The Allman brothers have a forum?

Lot's of bands have forums, though for an anti-establishment band like the Allman Brothers, there is a skoosh of irony in that I suppose.

Glad you posted this RunForTheRoses. A buddy of mine from Gadsden, AL, who was a huge Allman Brothers fan and a HUGE horse racing fan passed away a year ago, and I see out on the AB forum they recently threw a benefit jam in his memory. I didn't realize he had so many friends in the world until I read the postings on a thread in that forum after he passed. :)

Sorry for your loss. I do have diverse interests, to me it appeared many here do too. Maybe or maybe not.

check out Kid Rock stealing the melody and piano line from Warren Zevon....

listen to the first 10 seconds of both songs......and you realize it's exactly the same.

uwIGZLjugKA

Actually he did it right. He named Warren Zevon as a co-writer from the get go and shared all the royalties

I love Warren Zevon. Got all his stuff on the computer.

one of my faves..........

You have to admit that Dickey Betts no longer playing with the Allman Brothers.......changes the whole damn band........

Oh yeah, Dickey Betts is an immense talent. They never fully explained why he was kicked out. What has trickled out was he has some alcoholism issues. But I would love to see him show up one day.
