I don't know. His last ride was on Snik Snak, a horse who clipped heels and went down. He was taken to the hospital for what was presented as minor injuries.

Hugo substained vertabra injuries in that spill..He is fine and will be returning in a few weeks so I am told by his brother Oscar

Thanks for the replies. It is remarkable to me that this info for a top rider at a major track was nowhere to be found on search engines combing through newspaper, trade rags etc. If a third string tackle on the Detroit Lions taxi squad had a hangnail, it would be on Sportscenter.
