As Saratoga and Del Mar are our two premier meets we would be remiss not to post the final results of the Del Toga Challenge. Some great handicapping by some top players at two tough meets.

Is over 1.0 a profit or over 2.0?

Is over 1.0 a profit or over 2.0?

If your question is, "What hybrid ROI number indicates a player made a profit without the bonuses?", there is no single number that applies to all players.

That said, here is the list of players who would have made a profit if no bonuses were awarded:

ROI // Player
1.487 goatchaser
1.408 turffan
1.340 horses4courses
1.259 122425
1.219 tiger rose
1.213 FunkyMonkey
1.166 wiffleball whizz
1.163 AxleLode
1.155 Shemp Howard
1.126 LAP 520
1.098 TheEdge07
1.096 gaz
1.086 TBred17Roan
1.083 Golf and Horses
1.069 WarEmblem
1.068 horse7461
1.064 ten2oneormore
1.060 mudcat
1.054 planks46d
1.014 SAL
1.007 tophatmert
1.006 pele polo

This order is different from the final order of the contest, because in the contest, getting high bonuses were just as important the payouts of the horses.

I'm thinking strategy is 85 percent of this contest....by hawking the board and playing the game right you beat 90 percent of this field.....

Pretty crazy how the challenge came down to race 9 and 10....of course it's do what u gotta do to win but I think it was a huge disadvantage for horses4courses on the last day to have people free wheeling 30/1s all day to try and snap him on the wire....

In my opinion to have people take 19/1 cuz it puts them +.02 points ahead of H4C is a little hard to swallow......to have somebody who is sitting 22nd and pop
A 53.60 piece and 47.60 piece and go by everybody to win is crazy......just an observation I really loved this contest it provided action when I was home

Having the lead day going into last day is no picnic!!!

Again with that said great job by the sponsers and tourney mods for doing a great job....

Congratulations to Horses4courses, goatchaser and turffan - well done gentlemen!

The RDSS Draw Prize for this Contest is awarded to: FunkyMonkey - congratulations as well! (2 months unlimited RDSS data and subscription, and 2 hours one-on-mentoring). FunkyMonkey entered the draw in every contest this year and it finally paid off.

All the best to those continuing on to the Match Play Contest and to all those in serious contention for Player of the Year.

Thank you, all.
We all know how this game goes - like a roller coaster ride.
I got hot at the right time, and could be cold as ice by tomorrow.

It was tremendous fun which, of course, was amplified by a win.
The contest organizers, and sponsors, go from strength to strength.
Impossible to find better run, free contests , that are played in such a good spirit.
And, to cap it all off, some lucky person will go to Las Vegas for the Holy Grail of handicapping contests early next year.

Very impressive, and this site should get the publicity it deserves for making that possible for somebody.
I'm grateful to get a shot at it.
