R3: The favorite (4)BOLD CURLIN is by Curlin (10f) out of a Ascot Knight (11,5f) mare. In his case the cut back seems a negative, and his workouts in August are much slower than in June and July... :1: CANDY SHACK is a well managed colt. For him the cut back to 6,5f could be positive, showes an excellent 47.1 B in August and is dropping in class.

R4: another cheap puzzle. :7: COCKTAILS AT SEVEN has been running mostly over her head at 25 and 16k level. The needed drop and a prayer could produce a winning wake up.

R8: :6: NICO SUAVE is the class of the field here after winning a second level OC allowance two back. He liked the slow rhythm of the mile and 1/2. Maybe he can go slower and longer.
