R1: Polytrack monster :6: GYPSY ROBIN meets no speed monster here and should dominate this field. Stakes winner :1: MADAME CACTUS ran good speed figures as a 2 year old (83 > 82 > 82) and can complete the exacta for a good big layoff trainer.

1st ($3.20) & 2nd
exacta: 6-1

The Spaniard

R2: :4: MAGESTIC STINGER improved a ton after being claimed by Bill Spawr while rising in price. Today, second after the layoff she can follow her rise at a good price. :2: BASS cuts back in trip after an easy win and goes from 10k to 28k, a positive sign from the red hot barn

win/place :4:
win :2:

2nd ($5.60) & NP

R3: :1: HOME SCHOOL has been meeting tough graded stakes competition in Ireland and here drops big and has an edge in experience. The danger is the possible jet lag. :8: DIAMOND BACHELOR seemed a push the button classy colt with a future.

win/win
exacta box

3rd & 1st ($4.60)

this colt is Breeder's Cup Juvenil Turf stuff, top top

R4: :5: SAWYER'S HILL is by a high 18% first start win stallion, training fast at 5f and looks razor sharp in the post parade. :3: MAX THE KID, another good looking in the paddock as a bomb.

3rd

too green

:10: Candy Anniversary looks good on trainer stats and decent works.. let's see if the overland route works at short distance WP ..

The Spaniard

R5: :8: ROMAN THREAT is the speed of the speed. If the duel gets too hot maybe classy old :3: RAIL TRIP inherits victory.

win & win

$2 dreams

Del Mar - Race 5
$2.00 Pick 6
Selection: 8/3/2/4/12/7

- that was my measly addition to the pool --

The Spaniard
09-04-2013, 07:38 PM
R6: By Dynaformer out of a classy 1m 1/8 mare :3: QUIET FORCE went for schooling to a turf sprint and won (27-1) just by raw class. Over this trip and with a good pace she's the horse to beat (the presence of Bejarano means they think she's fit enough). Improver :8: HORIZONTALYSPEAKING (58 > 75 > 85) is the alternative in a race for spread betting.

As much as I think Gallagher is not much to a trainer, 6 Swift Eagle looks to run a big one.
5wp6

I reaffirm my stance on Gallagher. Can't train a billy goat to eat briars.
Congrats to Kayla

Anyone else notice how paltry the exacta was in the 6th with the winnner being a 12 dollar horse over a 10.20 to place horse

The Spaniard

R7: Lottery race. Philip D'Amato is due for a win, I'am following him and persist with :5: CRYSTALLINE INDY. :2:KATHLEEN ROSE is my paddock pick.

win/win

Np & 2nd ($20.00)

didn't bet place, just win... :bang:

R8: DEL MAR FUTURITY

By stayer Bertrando out of a stakes winning mare placed 2nd in a 12f turf stakes in Arlington, :10: TAMARANDO will enjoy the added three 1/16. The colt whom he beat easily won big yesterday. Brother of the stakes winners Lukarak and Unarak, maybe TAMARANDO is the Big Brother.

win /show

1st ($17.80)

from hell  (Kathleen Rose) to heaven (Tamarando) :jump:

Race 8 - sticking with my earlier lottery pick

:4: Celtic Moon

and 4-5 Ex box..

by the way, all these 2 yr old races are usually just for fun..

The Spaniard

R9: :3: YANKEE REBEL is proven at a higher level (OC 80.000) beaten by a nose on turf. But his best race was his debut over this course, where he showed a big turn of foot. The progeny of Yankee Gentleman like a lot this polytrack, and the gelding could run a big one with the nice return race on grass under the belt.

NP

I had a 160-1 cold exacta box 3-1, but Desormeaux never saw daylight on the inside with Yankee Rebel. He's old and looks scared. He won many millions, should retire.

:12: derringer in this Race 9 WP 2SH
and also :1: for SH

-W-T-F .... Why can I not (waste) risk, 2 extra bucks on an exacta box..

but it is ok..
:12: Derringer gave back PL 18.40 and SH 11.60

:1: Keyboard Courage gave back 7.60 for me....

but Espinoza Victor is on fire today and the voice of race called Vic seems very different... (ok it is someone else.. but I missed it in between)

Ok Span man, I gotta get up real early tomorrow so I am gonna say Gnite folks now! Next race I had singled (R 10) :7: Fanticola in my cheap pick 6 and he is going off at 3/2 - obviously i am not betting that to win..at that price

He's a new speaker. He's the speaker of Kentucky Downs, don't remember the name. He's a good handicapper. He used to present the races here in Del Mar. They should hire him in New York, with the age Tom Durkins thinks he's singing in the opera. Awful.

LAST BULLET OF THE METING: :8:SERENE MELODY is a cross Machiavellian x Rahy, two important turf stallions, and deserves an opportunity over the green. Her workouts have improved dramatically lately, she might be a late developer, and for this kind John Shirrefs is the right trainer. This daughter of superstar Serena Song could wake up today first time turf/first time routing.
