I was communicating with a board member and found that I had confused him with another member who has a similar user name. I got to thinking about all the good folks here who I have met in person. I'm going to do my best to recall who, where, and the event. If you and I met and I didn't include you please let me know so I can update the list. A ? mark means I'm not 100% sure.

Well, my list isn't as stellar but I've met a few:

Badactor, dogkatcher, goatchaser and Ted Craven
Met these guys at the 2011 Horse Player World Series

aggieshawn, Hoof Hearted, kmac1470, maclr11, Stan717 and Starlett
Met these guys at ASD, my home track

Scanman
Tom stayed with me for 3 nights with visits to ASD and Melville, as a result of hooking up here on PA.

eddy1
Eddy and I hosted the Ultimate Parlay Challenge before it morphed into the PaceAdvantace Challenge Series. My wife surprised me with a 50th Birthday trip to Las Vegas and low and behold, she arranged for Eddy and his wife to meet us there (first time we met in person). Since then we've been on golf vacations to Fairmont Hot Springs, BC; Whitefish, MT; and next week in Brainerd, MN. One of my closest friends.

Does being in the same place without knowing who they were at the time count? :D In June 2009 NJ Stinks and myself were only a few feet apart in a South Lake Tahoe racebook. We had no idea of each other's identity at that time. We only realized this through later posts here on PA. After 4 years plus darned if I can recall the posts and what was said, would have to do a search and page way back. :) Am sure that at one time or another quite likely that I have been close to other PA members at a SoCal track or Otb site, or perhaps once again a Nevada racebook.

Like TC said Sunday it wouldn't take much to convince him to go to laurel....how bout TC take the reigns and organize a PA outing at LRL on Maryland millions day......I'm sure even cj's dad would make a celebrity appearance.....

Also side question: when cj walks into laurel does the place come to a standstill? If he walks in the door mid stretch drive does the race stop dead in its tracks?? Like Johnny chan in rounders when the world champion walks through the door?

none - missed a chance to meet track collector at the great race place known as Sunflower Downs....

Hey, you get another chance. :D

This year when my fellow track-collecting friend and I visited another great racing venue called Desert Park in June, we stopped by the locked up, tall grass and weed growing, horses free-roaming place called Sunflower Downs on our way to Hastings. We found the front gate locked, but being the true track collectors that we are, we found a way to get in and have a look around. Given that finding this track is no easy task, I was lucky to remember how to find it before it got dark. My friend was thrilled with what he saw, so it appears that Sunflower Downs is all but certain to be on the 2014 visit schedule.

We now return to your regularly scheduled program, already in progress.

My list of PA forum members met personally, in alphabetical order, is the following. Hopefully I did not miss anyone.

Again not to derail this thread but proximity nailed this....this scenes in rounders is such bullshit it's scary....

First u see the taj poker director in the scenes in back of chan:...keep in mind for 15 years I've never seen the guy in the poker room but was 7/7 in seeing him when the taj is bottom rung now...Tom gitto...he's a great guy but was for no reason in that scenes exept to showboat....

The lady dealer in the "sir u gotta buy your checks from me" scene is a Atlantic city police dept officer or with the ACPD in some capacity now

Now also of note at the 1:15 mark 2 players playing the game with like 600 in green with the "semi" "proximity pyramids".......for the record blinds were 200-300 such as in $7.50-$15.00 blinds are $5 and $7.50 respectively.....and yes Chen isn't folding while getting huge odds at that point...

I've dealt 800-1600 at the borgata   (before I "moved" to connecticut" and guys had 45k at least in front of them.....I dealt 75-150 and guys had 5 racks of green which dwarfs the piss stacks they had in this scene

I guess what I'm trying to say is while visiting the taj poker room in the last 13 years you may have met me in the adjacent Racebook thus you could have added this to your list

another theory is that knish was quickly paged to the game and accidentally threw on the relaxation therapist's dress in his haste.

we have a lot of the opposite at our simulcast. guys coming up and showing you live tickets with their thumbs over half the horses, acting like they singled a leg they went 5 deep in, overlooking the fact that you can see the total cost of the ticket on the bottom.
