My top Maiden Race plays for Friday. I'm going to play $10WP on my top pick and $5 Exacta box my top 3 picks. Tracks listed in alphabetic order. Picks before scratches.
Arlington Race -2 The :6: . 2nd time off the layoff for Tim Ice who hits at 15% 2nd time out. Sticks with the bug boy up today. Needs to break alittle sharper today to get the prize. 6-5-3
Arlington Race -5 The :1: . Off the extended layoff for Stidham hitting at 20% off the bench. Double drops in class for another 33% angle. Trainer go to rider Graham in the saddle today. 1-4-7
Arlington Race -8 The :3: . 19% turf trainer Block sends this one over today off the even try last out. 2nd time with this trainer should see improvement today. 3-9-5
Del Mar Race -2 The :9: . Takes the biggest drop in racing into the maiden claiming ranks. Baffert hits at 30% with the move. Bullet workout Aug 26th for this. 9-14-7
Del Mar Race -4 The :8: . 2nd time starter for Glatt. Attracts the services of Bejarano today. Blinkers on may wake this one up in a wide open race. 8-9-10
Del Mar Race -7 The :6: . 3rd time off the layoff for Cassidy an 11% angle. Has speed to lay close and pounce at the mile distance today. 6-2-4
Ellis Race -2 The :7: . Missed as the fav last out for trainer who hits at 28% off the beaten fav loss. Back to the dirt for another 28% move. Toss in a bonus 38% on the double drop in class. Now or Never time. 7-5-1
Ellis race -8 The :7: . Tries the green for the 1st time, a 16% trainer angle. 13% going dirt-to-turf. Lanerie up today. 7-3-9
Evangeline Race -1 The :1a: . Looks like another now or never time for this career maiden. 3rd time off the layoff a 22% move. 1-3-6
Evangeline Race -3 The :1: . Typical LA bred race here and I'm tabbing an 0 for 20 trainer here. Scary prop I know but it is this one's 3rd run off the layoff and has run races that would beat these handily, Tread lightly at 4-1. 1-3-9
Indiana Race -4 The :9: . Drops back into the maiden claiming ranks a 23% trainer move. Career maiden may have found the right bunch to finally get home in front. 9-1-2
Indiana Race -8 The :10: . Off a long layoff for Midwest and Amoss here. Trainer hits at 22% off the layoff and 27% with new horses in the barn. 47% on the big drop here. Either wins this by 15 lengths or finishes off the board. 10-6-1
LaD Race -5 The :2: Back to the turf for a 20% Stall move going dirt-to-turf. 17% stretch out move with the return to the route today. 2-1-9
LaD Race -8 The :2: . Off the freshening for 14% layoff trainer Whited. Bullet workout Aug 11th going 5F. Any improvement off the debut takes this. 2-1-8
LaD Race -10 The :11: . If she's right, she blows this field away. Been on an extended break for 48 days and shows no workouts in that time. So there are some red flags but I get 9-2, I'll take that chance here. 11-12-4
Monmouth Race -1 The :7: . Won't get much of a price on this one. Double drops in class today and should be the controlling speed from the outside post. 7-1-4
Monmouth Race -2 The :2: . Just missed last out when making the lead at 5.5F and hanging a bit. Cuts back to a straight 5F run today. 69 Bris figure last out is the field's high last out. 2-1-6
Penn Race -1 The :2: . Heads back to the grass today for Locke. Had a good late run the only other time on the weeds. Uncoupled runner the :8: supplies the pace in here. 2-8-1
Penn Race -9 The :10: . Double drops in class for a 33% trainer move. Cuts back to the sprint for another 19% angle. Jock has won with 4 of last 11 mounts. 10-2-5
Saratoga Race -2 The :10: . If this one draws in from the AE list, this race is over. 2nd career run for Brown a 28% move. 10-6-12
Saratoga Race -4 The :5: . Love the 5F workout on Aug 3rd. Couple works over the turf course look good too. Bred to be quick early for 17% 1st out trainer. 5-7-10
Saratoga Race -5 The :1: . 10-1 on the ML for Hennig here. Just missed last out going this very trip. Inside post and the switch to JR riding only enhance chances here. 1-6-9
Woodbine Race -1 The :6: . 1st time starter for Sivera a 13% trainer with 1st outs. Nice string of works for his debut. 6-5-1A-1
Woodbine Race -3 The :7: . 12-1 ML shot has speed and cuts back to a 5F sprint today. 3rd time off the layoff 13% move and 25% with the jump up in class for this. Catch if catch can. 7-6-3
