Pleasantly Perfect, who, in my opinion, would have been a near-lock here, was scratched. With that in mind, here are my picks...
SOUTHERN IMAGE-Hard to knock his recent form, as he's beaten everything shoved into his path since last August. This early pace will be sizzling, and if this one runs his race, he'll be hard to hold off late.
ISLAND FASHION-Lots of questions here, as she hasn't run farther than a mile since last October. But there's also a lot to like, as she gets in with 115 lbs. and has a solid late kick; contender at a decent price.
ROYAL PLACE-Ever since he switched to the dirt in late-December, he's been a monster, winning his last two races by a combined 7.5 lengths. Gets in with a feathery 111 lbs., seven fewer than his last race, when he ran a career-best Beyer; may creep into the exotics at a major price.
